Description: UND Aerospace operates three Cessna 172S Flight Training Devices. The FTDs complement training provided in the Cessna 172S in the Private, Instrument, Commercial, CFI and CFII flight courses. The Cessna 172S FTDs have a visual database containing every airport in the United States. This means that students can conduct training anywhere in a realistic scenario that will help build their aeronautical decision making in a controlled environment overseen by their individual flight instructor. These FTDs are also equipped with advanced avionics of the Garmin G1000; this gives the students an exact replica of the aircraft they are conducting their daily flight training in.
Seminole FTD Description: UND Aerospace also operates a Seminole Flight Training Device. The FTD complements training provided in the Piper Seminole in the multi-engine course. Equipped with an standard instrument panel and Garmin 430 GPS units; this training devices gives the students a real life representation of flying the aircraft at a fraction of the cost.
