Cessna 172 Skyhawk
The retractable-gear Piper Arrow is the next step up from Warrior III. Its similar interior and instrument placement makes transitioning easy for students but its 200 hp power, higher level of performance and added complexity offers a challenge to students in higher level flight courses.
With Cessna's proven reliability, forgiving flight characteristics and advanced avionics (G1000), the Cessna 172S is an excellent all purpose trainer for UND students. The aircraft is used for primary flight training through CFI and CFII training. UND is confident in the track record of the C172, proven as one of the safest general aviation aircraft of all time.
The Piper Seminole is the training aircraft for UND's multi-engine and MEI flight courses. The Seminole is fully IFR equipped with dual Garmin GNS 430 GPS units and a two-axis auto-pilot.
